Studio Task 2



Why you chose to study on this course


  • To move away and live independently, as I had lived in the same for such a long time I wanted to get out my comfort zone and meet new people.
  • To pursue what I love to do, I love graphic design and Im eager to learn. 
  • To challenge myself, as its not easy to move away from home and uni its self is also not easy but I wanted to give myself that challenge. 
  • Reputation, the course has a great reputation and I really liked how well it prepares you for industry.

Things that you want to learn during your time on the course


  • How to work on grids, this seems to be the essence of design and id like to learn to use it efficiently. 
  • To learn the main theorys behind design from the past, this came about after reading vignellis canon which was very helpful on matters i did not know much about.
  • More practical prints, eg silk screen. I love hand printed work, learning to use these machines to a professional standard will defiantly be a highly of the course for me.
  • get a better understanding of cop to a professional level, I struggle with writing and am seriously out of practise so I'm excited to learn more and increase my skills within this area. 
  • learn how to work in at an industry standard.

Things that you think are your strengths


  • Determination, I strive for excellence in everything I do I believe this helps to keep on track. 
  • Communication, I like to think I'm a good commutator between peer.
  • I understand the basics of illustrator and photoshop this as been helpful within our first few projects. 
  • A intrest in the world. I have interests in tons of things, traveling, hiking, cycling, music, podcasts etc etc this helps within my practices.

Things you would like to improve


  • Research, Process skills etc, The process behind the final piece can sometimes become a confusion for me.
  • Writing skills, My spelling and grammar are not at the level they should be for somebody my age I would like to improve on this as the course goes on. 
  • Blogging and keeping on to of it can become a struggle at times I want it to become innate for me to do.
  • Software skills, I would like to be using all programs to a professional level and to learn the shortcut keys on most programs this would help a lot in efficiency  
  • Publication layout, this is something i have little knowledge in and would like to improve,

Things that inspire you


  • Family, as they always support me 
  • Friends, I have such a large group of friends at home all so individual with diffrent ideas and personality's coming from each of them, this gives me diffrent ideas and points of views from such a wide range of people. 
  • Diffrent culture, when traveling I found that seeing how differently people lived was rather inspirational. Grounding me by making me realise how lucky I am.
  • Coffee, always gets my brain juices flowing. 
  • Getting away from work, when i take a break from everything this can spark ideas etc at that point or when i go back to it.
