Learning the Process behind my own design

Something which I have struggled with within my design work is the process. It is still far from perfect however It has improved. This is from a wide range of things mainly through lectures with tutors and feedback. I am also beging to incorporate my own ways to work within my design process for example thing a day off to get out of leeds, or going for a cycle, meditating or just listening to podcasts. These however are not the fundamentals of my design process which I have learnt these are just things I have added on to help. I have learnt a lot about the process, research to begin. Before the extent of my research was googling the question, I now understand that it must be taken much further than this, books, primary research, artists, influences the list could go on. This research in turn helps tremendously to create a more informed resolution. The second would be Idea generations and how not to stick with the first thing I come up with. A good example I feel of this was OUGD405 study brief 2, I feel like my idea development contused to evolve throughout the entire project which lead to an idea I was much more certain about, Rather than OUGD403 - Study brief 1 where I stuck to my first idea leading to something that lacked depth and real understanding. Another thing I have learnt is to take advantage of drawing, original I would take everything straight to the laptop know I spent mostly all my time within the sketch book only going to the laptop to test out an idea, never to create one. This has saved me so much time and even lead to way more innovative thinking.
