Understanding modernism and postmodernism

coming to grips with modernism and postmodernism took a while and I still have more to learn about the two. However through lecture, research and reading I do now have a basic understanding of them. Modernism sticks to the rules, this has influenced my work the most so far. As i feel it is best to fully understand these rules before I begin to experiment to much, leading to less consistent work. Post modernism tends to not follow any rules. Both are more than just a design style they are inbeaded cultural post modernism comes from a change in thought, modernism is mainly influenced through the upheaval of mass production.
